The Medina Polizzi d'Agadir — sometimes called Medina d'Agadir — is not an original old medina. It was designed and built by Italian architect Coco Polizzi using traditional Berber construction techniques and materials from the Atlas Mountains, as a tribute to the city's pre-earthquake heritage.
The result is a 12-hectare site of stone lanes, artisan workshops, tiled courtyards and gardens that feels like a living craft village. You can watch woodcarvers, weavers and jewellers at work, and the architecture itself — zellige tilework, hand-carved doors, thick rammed-earth walls — is worth the visit alone.
You get up to two hours of free time to explore at your own pace with a pre-paid entry ticket. Hotel pickup and drop-off are included from Agadir, Taghazout and Tamraght.
